Noam Chomsky:
Noam was one of the original members of RESIST when it was the first national organization founded to support resistance to the Vietnam War and soon after to support a wide range of other forms of activism. He had been involved in many other anti-war activities in the years immediately preceding the founding of RESIST. Noam remains a prolific writer, power critic of US imperialism and a prominent international speaker.
Noam Chomsky is Professor of Linguistics, Linguistic Theory, Syntax, Semantics, Philosophy of Language at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mandy Carter:
A self-described “southern out black lesbian social justice activist,” Mandy is a long-time activist and advocate on behalf of peace, women’s and queer rights, and economic justice. She was a founding member of two ground-breaking organizations: Southerners On New Ground (SONG) - a RESIST grantee- and the National Black Justice Coalition. She was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize as part of the “1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005.”

Camilo Mejia:
Camilo Mejia was the first U.S. soldier who served in Iraq and went public with his refusal to re-deploy in 2004. He spent nine months in military confinement for deciding to follow his conscience. “By putting my weapon down, I chose to reassert myself as a human being,” he said. He is the son of prominent Sandinista revolutionaries, a member of Iraq Veterans Against War, and a sought-after national speaker.

Bill Fletcher, Jr:
Bill Fletcher, Jr., is a longtime labor and international activist and the former President of TransAfrica Forum and former Vice President for International Trade Union Development Programs for the George Meany Center of the AFL-CIO. Bill is a co-chair of United for Peace and Justice and also helped found the Black Radical Congress. Bill currently serves as the Belle Zeller Visiting Professor at Brooklyn College-CUNY and remains a prolific author and speaker.

Laura Flanders:
Laura Flanders is the host of “RadioNation” heard nationally on Air America Radio and on non-commercial stations.
She is also the author of Blue Grit: True Democrats Take Back Politics from the Politicians, an investigation into what people at the grassroots know that Democratic party leaders need to learn (The Penguin Press, 2007), and BUSHWOMEN: Tales of a Cynical Species, an expose of women in George W. Bush's Cabinet (Verso, 2004.). Flanders was founding director of the Women's Desk at the media watch group, FAIR and for more than ten years she produced and hosted CounterSpin, FAIR's nationally-syndicated radio program. She's a regular contributor to CNN, the Nation, and other outlets.
